Empire Today - Empire Carpet Recycling Program

Empire Carpet Recycling Program

In 2011, Empire Today implemented a carpet & padding recycling program to minimize the environmental impact of their day-to-day operations. In cooperation with Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) and CLEAR (Carpet Landfill Elimination And Recycling), 100% of the carpet and padding removed by Empire Today’s residential, small business and commercial installers that can be recycled, will be recycled. In first quarter 2011, Empire piloted the program in select areas, and the program is currently operational in more than 25 of Empire’s service areas. Since the program’s inception, over six million pounds of carpet and padding have been recycled, according to Empire’s waste tonnage reporting.

Famous quotes containing the words empire, carpet, recycling and/or program:

It has never occurred to me to wish for empire or royalty, nor for the eminence of those high and commanding fortunes. My aim lies not in that direction; I love myself too well.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

A child of three cannot raise its chubby fist to its mouth to remove a piece of carpet which it is through eating, without being made the subject of a psychological seminar of child-welfare experts, and written up, along with five hundred other children of three who have put their hands to their mouths for the same reason.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)

Both the Moral Majority, who are recycling medieval language to explain AIDS, and those ultra-leftists who attribute AIDS to some sort of conspiracy, have a clearly political analysis of the epidemic. But even if one attributes its cause to a microorganism rather than the wrath of God, or the workings of the CIA, it is clear that the way in which AIDS has been perceived, conceptualized, imagined, researched and financed makes this the most political of diseases.
    Dennis Altman (b. 1943)

“He swore that day till the leaves shook on the trees. Charming! Delightful! Never have I enjoyed such swearing before or since. Sir, on that memorable day he swore like an angel from Heaven!”
—For the State of New Jersey, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
