Electronic design automation (EDA or ECAD) is a category of software tools for designing electronic systems such as printed circuit boards and integrated circuits. The tools work together in a design flow that chip designers use to design and analyze entire semiconductor chips.
This article describes EDA specifically with respect to integrated circuits.
Famous quotes containing the words electronic, design and/or automation:

—Jean Baudrillard (b. 1929)
“The reason American cars dont sell anymore is that they have forgotten how to design the American Dream. What does it matter if you buy a car today or six months from now, because cars are not beautiful. Thats why the American auto industry is in trouble: no design, no desire.”

“Besides black art, there is only automation and mechanization.”
