Eilat Airport (Hebrew: נמל התעופה אילת, Namal HaTe'ufa Eilat, Arabic: مطار إيلات), also known as J. Hozman Airport (IATA: ETH, ICAO: LLET), is an Israeli airport located in the city of Eilat. It mostly handles domestic flights to Tel Aviv and Haifa with international flights operating instead to Ovda International Airport, but a few international flights on aircraft that can handle the relatively short runway use Eilat as well. Eilat Airport is located in the central area of the city, next to Route 90 (The Arava Road). The airport is expected to cease civilian operations by 2017 when Eilat's new international airport should become operational. The airport is a focus city for Arkia Israel Airlines and Israir Airlines.

Famous quotes containing the word airport:
“Airplanes are invariably scheduled to depart at such times as 7:54, 9:21 or 11:37. This extreme specificity has the effect on the novice of instilling in him the twin beliefs that he will be arriving at 10:08, 1:43 or 4:22, and that he should get to the airport on time. These beliefs are not only erroneous but actually unhealthy.”
—Fran Lebowitz (b. 1950)
