On 15 December 2008, a special edition of Eggheads began, airing 5 shows of Celebrity Eggheads, ending on 19 December 2008 presented by Dermot Murnaghan.

  • Celebrity chefs featuring John Burton Race, James Tanner, Atul Kochhar, Aiden Byrne and Oliver Rowe.
  • Celebrity experts featuring Kristian Digby, Jonty Hearnden, Joe Swift, Declan Curry and Anton Du Beke.

On 7 December 2009, 10 more editions of Celebrity Eggheads began. These were also the first shows to feature Pat Gibson, the seventh Egghead. The first 9 episodes aired on consecutive weekdays, with the 10th episode airing much later in March 2010.
