The economy of Luxembourg is largely dependent on the banking, steel, and industrial sectors. In 2009, a budget deficit of 5% resulted from government measures to stimulate the economy, especially the banking sector, as a result of the world economic crisis. This was however reduced to 1.4% in 2010.
