The Eastern Athletic Conference, or EAC, is a high school sports conference consisting of teams in southeastern Massachusetts. The league is a subset of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association. It is noted for having both a competitive conference, as well as one with an eclectic mix of both private and public schools. The current member institutions are Bishop Feehan High School, Bishop Stang High School, Coyle and Cassidy High School, Martha's Vineyard Regional High School (added in 2009), and Somerset Berkley Regional High School.

Famous quotes containing the words eastern, athletic and/or conference:
“I need not tell you of the inadequacy of the American shipping marine on the Pacific Coast.... For this reason it seems to me that there is no subject to which Congress can better devote its attention in the coming session than the passage of a bill which shall encourage our merchant marine in such a way as to establish American lines directly between New York and the eastern ports and South American ports, and both our Pacific Coast ports and the Orient and the Philippines.”
—William Howard Taft (18571930)
“Short of a wholesale reform of college athleticsa complete breakdown of the whole system that is now focused on money and powerthe womens programs are just as doomed as the mens are to move further and further away from the academic mission of their colleges.... We have to decide if thats the kind of success for womens sports that we want.”
—Christine H. B. Grant, U.S. university athletic director. As quoted in the Chronicle of Higher Education, p. A42 (May 12, 1993)
“Politics is still the mans game. The women are allowed to do the chores, the dirty work, and now and thenbut only occasionallyone is present at some secret conference or other. But its not the rule. They can go out and get the vote, if they can and will; they can collect money, they can be grateful for being permitted to work. But that is all.”
—Mary Roberts Rinehart (18761958)
