Famous quotes containing the words earth and/or days:
“We will not be put off the final goal
We have it hidden in us to attain,
Not though we have to seize the earth by the pole
And, tired of aimless circling in one place,
Steer straight off after something into space.”
—Robert Frost (18741963)
“And, oh God, in my misspent youth as a housewife, I, too, used to bake bread, in those hectic and desolating days just prior to the womans movement, when middle-class women were supposed to be wonderful wives and mothers, gracious hostesses.... I used to feel so womanly when I was baking my filthy bread.”
—Angela Carter (19401992)
