Male examples include the ancient Near Eastern, Greek, and Norse deities Baal, Melqart, Adonis, Eshmun, Attis Tammuz, Ra the Sun god with its fusion with Osiris/Orion, Jesus, Zalmoxis, Asclepius, Orpheus, Dionysus, and Odin. Female examples include Inanna/Ishtar, Persephone, and Bari.
