DSB operates several types of passenger trains, varying in number of stops and motive power. Apart from the S-trains, types available for the general public include:

- InterCity trains (IC)
- InterCityLyn (L) (express InterCity trains)
- EuroCity trains (EC)
- EuroNight trains (EN)
