Double Double Bonus is a video poker game based on Bonus Poker, which is in turn a variation of Jacks or Better. Double Double Bonus offers a higher payout percentage for four of a kind. The player is dealt five cards and can then choose which cards to keep or discard. New cards are dealt accordingly. The final hand must consist of a pair of Jacks or better in order to win.
The game varies from other video poker games in that the payout percentages are higher for paired hands. The minimum payout is a pair of Jacks or Better or two pair is a push (meaning that you get your wager back, nothing more). The payout for four aces is 800 coins per 5 coin wager and 2000 coin per 5 coin wager if the hand also includes a 2, 3, or 4. The best version has 9 coins per coin wagered payout for the full house (45 coins per 5 coin wager) and 6 coins for the flush, though some rare machines will offer 10 coins per coin wagered for the full hours, providing an expected return of over 100%.
Famous quotes containing the word double:
“American families, however, without exception, experience a double message in our society, one that claims a commitment to families and stresses the importance of raising bright, stable, productive citizens, yet remains so bound by an ideal of rugged individualism that parents receive little support in their task from the public or private sectors.”
—Bernice Weissbourd (20th century)
