Dominion (Star Trek) - Early History

Early History

The Dominion was established over two-thousand years prior to the events of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, by the Changelings, a race of shape-shifters, as a means of defending themseves against the widespread persecution they faced from humanoid races (whom they called "solids"). These Changelings genetically engineered a series of 'slave races' to act as the footsoldiers of their new empire, and were dubbed the Founders by their new creations.

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or history:

I taught school in the early days of my manhood and I think I know something about mothers. There is a thread of aspiration that runs strong in them. It is the fiber that has formed the most unselfish creatures who inhabit this earth. They want three things only; for their children to be fed, to be healthy, and to make the most of themselves.
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)

The second day of July 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more
    John Adams (1735–1826)
