Dolan's Cadillac - Film Adaptation

Film Adaptation

Initially, it was planned to be adapted into a feature film starring Sylvester Stallone and Kevin Bacon, with Stacy Title in the director's chair, however the project never came to fruition. Then in April 2008, IGN.com reported that a successful movie adaptation would be restarted in May that year. It was directed by Jeff Beesley, scripted by Richard Dooling and starred Christian Slater as Dolan, Wes Bentley as Robinson, and Emmanuelle Vaugier as Robinson's wife. The film was shot in Regina and Moose Jaw. J-pop idol Crystal Kay performed its theme song, "Hold On".

Famous quotes containing the words film and/or adaptation:

Television does not dominate or insist, as movies do. It is not sensational, but taken for granted. Insistence would destroy it, for its message is so dire that it relies on being the background drone that counters silence. For most of us, it is something turned on and off as we would the light. It is a service, not a luxury or a thing of choice.
David Thomson, U.S. film historian. America in the Dark: The Impact of Hollywood Films on American Culture, ch. 8, William Morrow (1977)

In youth the human body drew me and was the object of my secret and natural dreams. But body after body has taken away from me that sensual phosphorescence which my youth delighted in. Within me is no disturbing interplay now, but only the steady currents of adaptation and of sympathy.
    Haniel Long (1888–1956)
