DMT Rand
As well as USD, EUR, GBP, Yen, CHF, e-gold and gold, the DMT offered a private currency known as the rand, named after Ayn Rand (not related to the South African Rand).
It was a private currency and unit of account, defined in terms of highly liquid assets whose prices, or values, were readily determined in markets around the world.

Famous quotes containing the word rand:
“Hard times accounted in large part for the fact that the exposition was a financial disappointment in its first year, but Sally Rand and her fan dancers accomplished what applied science had failed to do, and the exposition closed in 1934 with a net profit, which was donated to participating cultural institutions, excluding Sally Rand.”
