Deimos in Popular Culture
In the God of War video game series, Deimos is the name of the brother of the series protagonist Kratos. This is not the same Deimos in Greek mythology; instead, he is the son of Zeus and Callisto. He and his brothers helped carry Ajax off the battlefield during the Trojan War when he was injured.
Recent news indicate that Italian supercar maker Lamborghini is trying to trademark the word Deimos for a future SUV.
Deimos and his brother Phobos are the main antagonists in Percy Jackson and the Stolen Chariot, in which they try to discredit their half sister, Clarisse La Rue, in the eyes of their father, Ares.

Famous quotes containing the words popular and/or culture:
“It is among the ranks of school-age children, those six- to twelve-year-olds who once avidly filled their free moments with childhood play, that the greatest change is evident. In the place of traditional, sometimes ancient childhood games that were still popular a generation ago, in the place of fantasy and make- believe play . . . todays children have substituted television viewing and, most recently, video games.”
—Marie Winn (20th century)
“Culture is the suggestion, from certain best thoughts, that a man has a range of affinities through which he can modulate the violence of any master-tones that have a droning preponderance in his scale, and succor him against himself. Culture redresses this imbalance, puts him among equals and superiors, revives the delicious sense of sympathy, and warns him of the dangers of solitude and repulsion.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
