Criticism of "Decision Earth"

It has been asserted that "Decision Earth" included a series of controversial claims about waste disposal, mining and forestry issues which was distributed by the Procter & Gamble corporation to roughly 75,000 schools in the United States. Procter and Gamble argued in their package that disposable diapers are no worse for the environment than cloth diapers, a claim based on scientific studies funded by Procter and Gamble. The package described garbage-fuelled incineration processes where energy is recovered, as "thermal recycling" without mentioning the toxic ash or emissions that result.

To be just, that is to say, to justify its existence, criticism should be partial, passionate and political, that is to say, written from an exclusive point of view, but a point of view that opens up the widest horizons.
    Charles Baudelaire (1821–1867)

The decision to have a child is both a private and a public decision, for children are our collective future.
    Sylvia Ann Hewitt (20th century)

Welcome, all wonders in one night!
    Eternity shut in a span,
Summer in winter, day in night,
Heaven in earth, and God in man.
Great Little One! Whose all-embracing birth
Lifts earth to heaven, stoops heaven to earth.
    Richard Crashaw (1613?–1649)
