Dark Heresy was a Baroque death metal band based in suburban London, England and mainly active during the years 1993-1995, a period during which the London underground metal scene peaked. They played over fifty concerts across England during this period, often as headliners (including one night headlining the Marquee) as well as supporting bands like Ancient Rites, At the Gates, Cradle of Filth and Dissection. They split up in 1996 following some line-up difficulties.
Famous quotes containing the words dark and/or heresy:
“A puff of wind, a puff faint and tepid and laden with strange odours of blossoms, of aromatic wood, comes out the still nightthe first sigh of the East on my face. That I can never forget. It was impalpable and enslaving, like a charm, like a whispered promise of mysterious delight.... The mysterious East faced me, perfumed like a flower, silent like death, dark like a grave.”
—Joseph Conrad (18571924)
“The difference between heresy and prophecy is often one of sequence. Heresy often turns out to have been prophecywhen properly aged.”
—Hubert H. Humphrey (19111978)
