A County Bank is a kind of financial institution with the purpose of boosting rural economic development, which has developed in China since 2005.
In 2007, China Banking Regulatory Commission promulgated “The Temporary Rule of County Bank”, in which the establishment process, organization and structure, as well as business scope of a county bank are specified.
Afterwards, CBRC further published two rules with detailed requirements on county banks, namely "Notice on Printing and Distributing the Guidelines for Examination and Approval of the Establishment of County Banks" and "Notice on the Relevant Policies for County Banks, Loan Companies, Rural Mutual Cooperatives and Small Loan Companies".
Up to October 31, 2008, there are 62 county banks opened in China according to CBRC's report.
Famous quotes containing the words county and/or bank:
“Dont you know there are 200 temperance women in this county who control 200 votes. Why does a woman work for temperance? Because shes tired of liftin that besotted mate of hers off the floor every Saturday night and puttin him on the sofa so he wont catch cold. Tonight were for temperance. Help yourself to them cloves and chew them, chew them hard. Were goin to that festival tonight smelling like a hot mince pie.”
—Laurence Stallings (18941968)
“A self is, by its very essence, a being with a past. One must look lengthwise backwards in the stream of time in order to see the self, or its shadow, now moving with the stream, now eddying in the currents from bank to bank of its channel, and now strenuously straining onwards in the pursuit of its chosen good.”
