Convection Microwave - Function

Function

Conventional microwaves work by emitting energy waves from the 'microwave' range on the electromagnetic spectrum. These waves are emitted by the magnetron and bounce randomly around inside the microwave until they come in contact with the food. The energy is transferred into the food and causes the water molecules to become excited and move around inside the food. This movement cause heat to be generated, effectively cooking the food. A convection microwave solves this problem by 'heating up' the entire inside of the microwave, and cooks the food this way. If the user was trying to bake a cake, the microwaves emitted by a regular microwave would speed the cooking process too much, and the resulting cake would not be cooked as intended.

Famous quotes containing the word function:

No one, however powerful and successful, can function as an adult if his parents are not satisfied with him.
    Frank Pittman (20th century)

For me being a poet is a job rather than an activity. I feel I have a function in society, neither more nor less meaningful than any other simple job. I feel it is part of my work to make poetry more accessible to people who have had their rights withdrawn from them.
    Jeni Couzyn (b. 1942)

The mother’s and father’s attitudes toward the child correspond to the child’s own needs.... Mother has the function of making him secure in life, father has the function of teaching him, guiding him to cope with those problems with which the particular society the child has been born into confronts him.
    Erich Fromm (1900–1980)
