Community Air

Community Air is a non-profit resident association in the city of Toronto, Canada that seeks to have the Toronto Island Airport shut down and its lands converted to park land. The association is concerned about noise, pollution and safety aspects of the airport's operation. The group has regularly held protests at the airport site and at the airport's operator's (the Toronto Port Authority) general meetings.

Famous quotes containing the words community and/or air:

He thought that, because the community represents millions of people, therefore it must be millions of times more important than the individual, forgetting that the community is an abstraction from the many, and is not the many themselves.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

Up from the South at break of day,
    Bringing to Winchester fresh dismay,
The affrighted air with a shudder bore,
Like a herald in haste, to the chieftain’s door,
The terrible grumble, and rumble, and roar,
Telling the battle was on once more,
    And Sheridan twenty miles away.
    Thomas Buchanan Read (1822–1872)
