Colchians

Colchians (Georgian: კოლხები) was a Greco-Roman designation for ancient Mingrelians-Lazs who inhabited the west and southwest of the Transcaucasus region in prehistoric and historic times. Ancient Colchians are identified as modern western Georgians (Mingrelian-Lazs) who have originated from the early Georgian state of Colchis.
