Academic Performance
The School has recently seen a significant rise in its academic results and was named in January 2007 by the DFES in its prestigious list of the 'Top 100 Most Improved Schools' in England. The School has also been elected to the 'Most Improved Schools Club' for 2007 by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust. This is the second time the School has been elected to the Club in the last three years.
Summer 2008 exam results were the best ever at the school. An 11% increase in 5+A*-C results saw nearly 70% of students stay on into the sixth form to undertake post-16 study. Cheshunt School now has its largest ever sixth form of 165 students. Summer A Level results saw 73% of A levels achieved at grades A-C. Over 60% of students took up university places in October 2008. Others are holding places and have taken a gap year.

“The poker player learns that sometimes both science and common sense are wrong; that the bumblebee can fly; that, perhaps, one should never trust an expert; that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of by those with an academic bent.”
—David Mamet (b. 1947)
“The value of old age depends upon the person who reaches it. To some men of early performance it is useless. To others, who are late to develop, it just enables them to finish the job.”
—Thomas Hardy (18401928)
