In Popular Culture
Chatsworth House appeared in the 2005 film adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. It represented Pemberley, Mr Darcy's home. The house itself is named in the novel as one of the estates Elizabeth Bennet visits before arriving at Pemberley. The house was also used in The Duchess (2008), featuring Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes, and The Wolfman (2010), with Benicio del Toro and Anthony Hopkins.
An episode of Interceptor was partially filmed in the grounds of Chatsworth (Derbyshire episode), as the key was hidden on the top of the Cascade waterwork. Griff Rhys Jones was a guest at Chatsworth while making and filming his show "Rivers with Griff Rhys Jones".
Chatsworth House is the subject of a three part documentary, Chatsworth, on BBC television.

“If youre anxious for to shine in the high esthetic line as a man
of culture rare,
You must get up all the germs of the transcendental terms, and plant
them everywhere.
You must lie upon the daisies and discourse in novel phrases of your
complicated state of mind,
The meaning doesnt matter if its only idle chatter of a
transcendental kind.”
—Sir William Schwenck Gilbert (18361911)
