The dwarf planet Pluto's largest moon is named Charon.

The spacecraft New Horizons, scheduled to pass Pluto and Charon in 2014, carries a sample of the cremated remains of Clyde Tombaugh, discoverer of the dwarf planet. The craft also contains a coin, a U.S. quarter dollar.
