The CEMAC Cup is a non-commercialised football tournament that includes only local league players from the Republic of Congo, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Gabon and the Central African Republic. As the local leagues in these six countries are amateur leagues, it is a non-professional competition. However it is a good competition for recruiters who want to sign new talent in European clubs.
These countries have also played seven tournaments before, the UDEAC Championship, from 1984 until 1990. After more than a decade, the same countries decided to revive the competition under another name, the CEMAC Cup.
The tournament is organised by the Central African Football Federations' Union.

Famous quotes containing the word cup:
“There is not enough exercise in this way of life. I try to make up by active gymnastics before I dress when I get up, by walking rapidly in the lower hall and the greenhouse after each meal for perhaps five to ten minutes, and a good hand rubbing before going to bed. I eat moderately; drink one cup of coffee at breakfast and one cup of tea at lunch and no other stimulant. My health is now, and usually, excellent.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
