Anticipated Air Wing in 2020
The Navy has described an air wing for 2020 as follows:
- 40-50 strike fighters (a combination of F/A-18Cs, F/A-18E/Fs, with F-35C Lightning IIs eventually replacing the F/A-18Cs)
- 4-6 EA-18G Growlers replacing EA-6B Prowlers
- 4-6 E-2D Advanced Hawkeyes
- 2 C-2 Greyhound
- 16 MH-60R Seahawks, including detachments on Strike Group escort ships
- TBD number Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles (UCAV)
