Carbine
A carbine ( /ˈkɑrbiːn/ or /ˈkɑrbaɪn/), from French carabine, is a longarm similar to — but shorter than — a rifle or musket. Many carbines are shortened versions of full rifles, firing the same ammunition at a lower velocity due to a shorter barrel length.
