A Caesar salad is a salad of romaine lettuce and croutons dressed with parmesan cheese, lemon juice, olive oil, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and black pepper. It is often prepared tableside.
Famous quotes containing the words caesar and/or salad:
“Brutus. How many times shall Caesar bleed in sport,
That now on Pompeys basis lies along,
No worthier than the dust!
Cassius. So oft as that shall be,
So often shall the knot of us be called
The men that gave their country liberty.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“Whoever eats anything at a wedding luncheon? They make the food out of papier mâché. My salad had been used four or five times this week.”
