He has expanded the department into what it is today. The Theatre Department also includes almost every kind of student; cheerleaders, band members, choir members, and athletes. Larry Mathis has produced several award-winning plays. Amongst the biggest productions include Peter Pan, Ash Girl, and The Mill on the Floss. Famous quotes containing the word theatre:

The History of the world is not the theatre of happiness. Periods of happiness are blank pages in it, for they are periods of harmony—periods when the antithesis is in abeyance.
    Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770–1831)

The theatre is the involuntary reflex of the ideas of the crowd.
    Sarah Bernhardt (1845–1923)

The theatre is the best way of showing the gap between what is said and what is seen to be done, and that is why, ragged and gap-toothed as it is, it has still a far healthier potential than some poorer, abandoned arts.
    David Hare (b. 1947)
