FBRs have been built and operated in the USA, the UK, France, the former USSR, India and Japan. An experimental FBR in Germany was built but never operated. Famous quotes containing the words breeder, development and/or notable:

    Get thee to a nunnery. Why wouldst thou be a breeder of sinners?
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    The man, or the boy, in his development is psychologically deterred from incorporating serving characteristics by an easily observable fact: there are already people around who are clearly meant to serve and they are girls and women. To perform the activities these people are doing is to risk being, and being thought of, and thinking of oneself, as a woman. This has been made a terrifying prospect and has been made to constitute a major threat to masculine identity.
    Jean Baker Miller (20th century)

    a notable prince that was called King John;
    And he ruled England with main and with might,
    For he did great wrong, and maintained little right.
    —Unknown. King John and the Abbot of Canterbury (l. 2–4)
