“We have to give ourselvesmen in particularpermission to really be with and get to know our children. The premise is that taking care of kids can be a pain in the ass, and it is frustrating and agonizing, but also gratifying and enjoyable. When a little kid says, I love you, Daddy, or cries and you comfort her or him, life becomes a richer experience.”

“After supper she got out her book and learned me about Moses and the Bulrushers; and I was in a sweat to find out all about him; but by and by she let it out that Moses had been dead a considerable long time; so then I didnt care no more about him; because I dont take no stock in dead people.”
—Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (18351910)
“I should like not to exchange any of my life for money.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
