Bone resorption is highly constructable stimulated or inhibited by signals from other parts of the body, depending on the demand for calcium.
Calcium-sensing membrane receptors in the parathyroid gland monitor calcium levels in the extracellular fluid. Low levels of calcium stimulates the release of parathyroid hormone (PTH) from chief cells of the parathyroid gland. In addition to its effects on kidney and intestine, PTH also increases the number and activity of osteoclasts to release calcium from bone, and thus stimulates bone resorption.
High levels of calcium in the blood, on the other hand, leads to decreased PTH release from the parathyroid gland, decreasing the number and activity of osteoclasts, resulting in less bone resorption.
In some cases where bone resorption becomes accelerated, the bone is broken down much faster than it can be renewed. The bone becomes more porous and fragile, exposing people to the risk of fractures and the bone can break much more easily. Depending where in the body of the bone resorption, additional problems like tooth loss can also arise. Some people who can evolve bone resorption are astronauts. When the astronauts don't work their musculoskeletal systems from bringing zero gravity for an extended amount of time, experience losses in bone density as a result.
As people get older, the rate of resorption tends to exceed the rate of replacement, leading to conditions like osteoporosis. In addition, certain medical conditions such as hormone imbalances can cause bone resorption to increase, leading to increased susceptibility to fractures. If you get bone resorption there may be some but few ways to treat the disease. It may be possible to address the underlying cause to stop the rate of bone loss, and giving supplements to help the patient's body build and rebuild new bone. Other ways to help reduce the spread of bone resorption is to try and limit the spread of bone density. Some ways that can increase the chances of bone resorption is applying pressure to a bone can also increase your chances to get bone resorption. Also failing to treat chronic inflammation and bone injuries can result in the development of bone resorption. Even if some individuals get bone resorption some of the healthy individuals bodies may be able to rebuild its self, but in people with chronic untreated conditions, the bone can thin and fragility increases
