Boleyn Ground - The Stands

The Stands

Upton Park has been an all-seater stadium since the early 1990s, after professional clubs had to meet new FA regulations for stadium safety after the Hillsborough Disaster in 1989. Upton Park has four main stands, which are named The Sir Trevor Brooking Stand, The Bobby Moore Stand, The East Stand and The Alpari Stand.

Famous quotes containing the word stands:

As soon as we exceed average human goodness by even a single step, our actions arouse suspicion. Virtue stands steadily “in the middle.”
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)

The Englishman’s strong point is his vigorous insularity; that of the American his power of adaptation. Each of these attitudes has its perils. The Englishman stands firmly on his feet, but he who merely does this never advances. The American’s disposition is to step forward even at the risk of a fall.
    Thomas Wentworth Higginson (1823–1911)
