The Blue Lake Rancheria of the Wiyot, Yurok, and Hupa Indians is located in Humboldt County, California.
In 1966, the United States Government returned the Blue Lake Rancheria to the tribe and removed all Native rights from the tribe's citizens. These rights were returned in 1989 and the tribe now operates under their own constitution.

Famous quotes containing the words blue and/or lake:
“Trees appeared in groups and singly, revolving coolly and blandly, displaying the latest fashions. The blue dampness of a ravine. A memory of love, disguised as a meadow. Wispy cloudsthe greyhounds of heaven.”
—Vladimir Nabokov (18991977)
“The best quality tea must have creases like the leathern boot of Tartar horsemen, curl like the dewlap of a mighty bullock, unfold like a mist rising out of a ravine, gleam like a lake touched by a zephyr, and be wet and soft like a fine earth newly swept by rain.”
—Lu Yu (d. 804)
