Black Flame

Black Flame was an imprint of BL Publishing, the publishing arm of Games Workshop and a sister imprint to the Black Library and Solaris Books. Black Flame was devoted to publishing cult fiction in the fields of science fiction, fantasy and horror. On 25 April 2008 Black Flame officially closed down.

The rights to Black Flame's 2000 AD titles have been bought by Rebellion Developments, and, as of November 2009, made available in eBook format. However, the rest of the Black Flame titles remain out of print.

Famous quotes containing the words black and/or flame:

Christianity as an organized religion has not always had a harmonious relationship with the family. Unlike Judaism, it kept almost no rituals that took place in private homes. The esteem that monasticism and priestly celibacy enjoyed implied a denigration of marriage and parenthood.
Beatrice Gottlieb, U.S. historian. The Family in the Western World from the Black Death to the Industrial Age, ch. 12, Oxford University Press (1993)

The poppy that my heart was,
    formed to bind all mortals,
made to strike and gather hearts
    like flame upon an altar,
fades and shrinks, a red leaf
drenched and torn in the cold rain.
    Hilda Doolittle (1886–1961)
