In the 2010 novel I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore, Kosar is referenced by name. The protagonist names his pet beagle Bernie Kosar. Additionally, in the 2011 film adaptation, a poster of Kosar depicting him during his football career is shown in the new bedroom of the protagonist.
