Beam Reach is a redevelopment area in London, England and part of the London Riverside section of the Thames Gateway. It is located in the southern part of the London Borough of Havering, next to the River Thames and the River Beam. The London Development Agency owns the land in the area and promotes it for intensification of manufacturing companies, to complement the nearby commercial and residential redevelopment areas. The A1306 road forms the northern perimeter and the A13 road runs through the site east to west. Havering London Borough Council propose that a station should be built in the area, to be served by c2c trains. Beam Reach is the location of Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence.
Famous quotes containing the words beam and/or reach:
“How can one beam alone support a house?”
—Chinese proverb.
“Italians, and perhaps Frenchmen, consider first whether they like or want to do a thing and then whether, on the whole, it will do them any harm. Englishmen, and perhaps Germans, consider first whether they ought to like a thing and often never reach the questions whether they do like it and whether it will hurt. There is much to be said for both systems, but I suppose it is best to combine them as far as possible.”
—Samuel Butler (18351902)
