Bayaa

The bayaa ceremony (Arabic: البيعه‎ al-baya'ah, Turkish: biat) is performed in Islamic societies, as a means to formally endorse the rule of a newly-appointed Caliph, Imam, Sultan or other leader, by a pledge of allegiance.
