Bates Motel - Continuity

Continuity

Critics and fans of the Psycho franchise have argued that the pilot does not fit in with the canon of the series, ignoring continuity with Psycho II, Psycho III and Psycho IV: The Beginning due to the death of Norman Bates in the film, while in "Psycho II", Bates is deemed sane and returns to the Bates Motel. Famous quotes containing the word continuity:

If you associate enough with older people who do enjoy their lives, who are not stored away in any golden ghettos, you will gain a sense of continuity and of the possibility for a full life.
    Margaret Mead (1901–1978)

The dialectic between change and continuity is a painful but deeply instructive one, in personal life as in the life of a people. To “see the light” too often has meant rejecting the treasures found in darkness.
    Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)

Only the family, society’s smallest unit, can change and yet maintain enough continuity to rear children who will not be “strangers in a strange land,” who will be rooted firmly enough to grow and adapt.
    Salvador Minuchin (20th century)
