Famous quotes containing the word letters:
“I have a vast deal to say, and shall give all this morning to my pen. As to my plan of writing every evening the adventures of the day, I find it impracticable; for the diversions here are so very late, that if I begin my letters after them, I could not go to bed at all.” —Frances Burney (17521840)
“A hunger seized my heart; I read Of that glad year which once had been, In those fallen leaves which kept their green, The noble letters of the dead.” —Alfred Tennyson (18091892)
“Sir, more than kisses, letters mingle souls. For, thus friends absent speak.” —John Donne (c. 15721631)
