Acting Career
In the early 1960s, he had a long-running screen role as Alan Drew in the BBC TV series Compact. He later had an even longer-lasting part in the radio soap, Waggoner's Walk, which ran for more than a decade and achieved ratings of four million listeners on Radio Two in the United Kingdom. This grew so popular that it nearly caused the cancellation of The Archers.
As he grew older, Moss did less acting in order to concentrate on other interests, although he has continued to appear in comic roles, most recently in The Gigolos.

Famous quotes containing the words acting and/or career:
“Today, San Francisco has experienced a double tragedy of incredible proportions. As acting mayor, I order an immediate state of mourning in our city. The city and county of San Francisco must and will pull itself together at this time. We will carry on as best as we possibly can.... I think we all have to share the same sense of shame and the same sense of outrage.”
—Dianne Feinstein (b. 1933)
“Whether lawyer, politician or executive, the American who knows whats good for his career seeks an institutional rather than an individual identity. He becomes the man from NBC or IBM. The institutional imprint furnishes him with pension, meaning, proofs of existence. A man without a company name is a man without a country.”
—Lewis H. Lapham (b. 1935)
