Ariel Sharon - Recognition

Recognition

In 2005, he was voted the 8th-greatest Israeli of all time, in a poll by the Israeli news website Ynet to determine whom the general public considered the 200 Greatest Israelis.

To commemorate him, Ariel Sharon Park, by far the most ambitious and expensive park project in Israel's history, is currently being developed outside Tel Aviv. Overseen by the state, the development of Ariel Sharon Park, in which $250 million will be invested before opening, when finished will be three times the size of New York's Central Park, and will introduce many new ecological technologies. A 50,000-seat Ariel Sharon amphitheatre is currently being proposed, to become the national concert venue.
