Influences On Popular Culture

A variation of a White Russian made with skim milk is known as an Anna Kournikova. In the lingo of the poker variation Texas Hold 'em, the hole cards Aceā€“King (unsuited) are sometimes referred to as an "Anna Kournikova", a term introduced by the poker commentator Vince van Patten during a WPT tournament because it "looks great but never wins". Famous quotes containing the words influences, popular and/or culture:

Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each. Let them be your only diet drink and botanical medicines.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

What’s wrong, a little pavement sickness?
—Russian saying popular in the Soviet period, trans. by Vladimir Ivanovich Shlyakov (1993)

    Gerald Early (b. 1952)
