Common Lens Angles of View
This table shows the diagonal, horizontal, and vertical angles of view, in degrees, for lenses producing rectilinear images, when used with 36 mm × 24 mm format (that is, 135 film or full-frame 35mm digital using width 36 mm, height 24 mm, and diagonal 43.3 mm for d in the formula above). Digital compact cameras sometimes state the focal lengths of their lenses in 35mm equivalents, which can be used in this table.

—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“In view of this half-sight of science, we accept the sentence of Plato, that, poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
