The Last Time
Ádám died in 1827 in Boulogne-sur-Mer at the age of 50 when Franz was just 15 years old. They were staying at a retreat centre for Franz to rest efter a physician's ordination, but instead the father became fatally ill in typhoid fever, and was buried there. Franz composed a funeral piece in conjunction to his father's funeral service.

Famous quotes containing the words the last and/or time:
“On like the wind they hurried, and Morgan rode in advance;
Bright were his eyes like live coals, as he gave me a sideways
glance;
And I was just breathing freely, after my choking pain,
When the last one of the troopers suddenly drew his rein.”
—Constance Fenimore Woolson (18401894)
“I feared
The belly-cold, the grave-clout, that betrayed
Me dithering in the drift of cordial seas;
Ten years are time enough to be dismayed
By mummy Christ, head crammed between his knees.”
—Allen Tate (18991979)
