8 Flight Army Air Corps is one of the Independent Flights within the British Army's Army Air Corps. 8 Flight is attached to the Special Air Service and based alongside them in Hereford.
The flight provides the SAS with their own light Special Operations Aviation support. It is made up of four Eurocopter AS 365N Dauphin helicopters.
The flight previously operated four Agusta 109A's and two AƩrospatiale Gazelle helicopters, all of which have now been retired in 2008. Two of the Agustas were captured from the Argentines in the Falklands War in 1982 as war prizes and the other two were bought from new.

That if we hold that flight theyll leave the place,
While those same hundreds mock another day
Because we have made our art of common things ...”

who attacks with yellow teeth
and an army of cousins big as shoes ...”

Tugging at banks, until they seemed
Bland belly-sounds in somnolent troughs,
That the air was heavy with the breath of these swine,
The breath of turgid summer, and
Heavy with thunders rattapallax....”
—Wallace Stevens (18791955)
“There was nothing to equal it in the whole history of the Corps Diplomatique.”
—James Boswell (17401795)
