8 Days is a weekly Singaporean magazine published by MediaCorp's publishing arm MediaCorp Publishing, aimed mainly at the teenage and young people market. The magazine is predominantly about the latest celebrity gossip and television news as well as television synopsis for every episode, with small sections featuring other subjects. These include interviews, film reviews, music reviews, TV listings, travel, book reviews, a horoscope and a food section among others.
The stars who have featured on the covers of the magazine range from local (Singaporean) artistes such as Zoe Tay, Fiona Xie, Joanne Peh. Adrian Pang and Tay Ping Hui to regional and Hollywood stars such as Maggie Q, Angelina Jolie, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Brad Pitt and Colin Farrell.
The magazine also has unique sections, including "Stars and their Cars", an occasional section where celebrities are interviewed about their new automobiles, and "How I Spend my Weekend", a column providing a celebrity's personal recount about what he/she does during the weekend. The people featured in the latter have included personalities from Project Runway finalist Santino Rice to theatre director Ivan Heng. Another section, named "Boos and Bravos", consists of small paragraphs rating a particular instance in a television program or commercial as either good or bad. There is also a column called the 'Last Page'. It features a list of things related to current affairs.
Celebrity interviews are also sometimes themed, or presented in an unusual fashion. For example, an interview with actress Shu Qi was peppered with photographs of her facial expressions when she was answering the specific question. Another interview with the hosts of a local hidden camera television program, Gotcha! (TV series), set the hosts up for a seemingly routine photoshoot with a demanding photographer.
8 Days and its Chinese-language contemporary i-Weekly are two of the countries longest-running magazines, running for more than 16 years as of 2007. Most often, celebrities are the cover page stories, with annual "special" issues such as "30 Sexy Stars Under 30", the "swimsuit issue" and the oversized "Big Issue", the first of which featured Peter Jackson's King Kong (2005 film). Also, the latest films have made their way to the magazine's cover, with their team scoring exclusive interviews as part of the international press for such blockbusters as Superman Returns, Spider-Man 3 and The Grudge 2.
The magazine started out as an A4-sized publication, but was changed to become a B4-sized one instead in 2008.
On the 13th of December 2009, the 1000th issue of 8 DAYS was launched at Iluma. There was also an exhibit of the 999 different covers.
