Order of Battle On Mobilization
On mobilization in August 1914 at the beginning of World War I, most divisional cavalry, including brigade headquarters, was withdrawn to form cavalry divisions or split up among divisions as reconnaissance units. Divisions received engineer companies and other support units from their higher headquarters. The 6th Bavarian Division was renamed the 6th Bavarian Infantry Division. - 12. bayerische Infanterie-Brigade
- Kgl. Bayerisches 6. Infanterie-Regiment Kaiser Wilhelm, König von Preußen
- Kgl. Bayerisches 11. Infanterie-Regiment von der Tann
- Kgl. Bayerisches 2. Chevaulegers-Regiment Taxis
- 6. bayerische Feldartillerie-Brigade
