Design
The cartridge is based a necked down .308x1.5 inch Barnes cartridge which in turn is based on the Winchester case shortened to 1.5 inches (38 mm). It is one of the earlier cartridges to follow the short, fat design concept. Short fat cartridges have characteristics that make them more efficient and accurate.
