Famous quotes containing the words street, ninth and/or avenue:

    You had such a vision of the street
    As the street hardly understands;
    Sitting along the bed’s edge, where
    You curled the papers from your hair,
    Or clasped the yellow soles of feet
    In the palms of both soiled hands.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

    And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
    Bible: New Testament Matthew, 27:46.

    The words of Jesus were anticipated in Psalms 22:1.

    Like art and politics, gangsterism is a very important avenue of assimilation into society.
