510 Spadina - Stops

Stops

Stops along 510 consist of a raised concrete platform with a partially covered shelter and railings along the entire boarding area. Platforms are located on the far-side of most intersections, to make room for left-turn lanes on the near side. TTC streetcars are equipped with a Surface Vehicle Automatic Stop Announcement System (SVASAS) which calls out the stops through the public address system and on the L.E.D. board (e.g., Next Stop: College Street).

Famous quotes containing the word stops:

    The end of all stories, even if the writer forebears to mention it, is death, which is where time stops short. Sheherezade knew this, which is why she kept on spinning another story out of the bowels of the last one, never coming to a point where she could say: “This is the end.” Because it would have been.
    Angela Carter (1940–1992)

    Unquiet wanderer
    Draw the Glasnevin coverlet anew
    About your head till the dust stops your ear,
    The time for you to taste of that salt breath
    And listen at the corners has not come;
    You had enough of sorrow before death—
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

    The government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
    Ronald Reagan (b. 1911)
